Torino FC, founded in 1906, have one of Italian football's saddest stories. The "Grande Torino" of the 1940s — arguably Italy's greatest ever club side — were killed in the Superga air disaster in 1949, claiming 18 players. The club won five consecutive Serie A titles before the disaster. Andrea Belotti, "Il Gallo," recently ended a long association with the club.
